Spiffy spellers,Notes 8.5.1 has a new spell check engine-- the same one used by Symphony. We hope to be converging on spell checking UI and features over the next few release (but no promises!) In this release of Notes, you can do 3 new things:
Use a replacement table to correct typical misspellings - When you type a letter combination that has a match in the replacement table, the text is replaced with the replacement text from the table. For example, "teh" is replaced with "the." In this release, the replacement table is a fixed set of things that neither Philippe (nor Fred the admin) has access so. I hope that in future releases we can let users know the list and even add to it.
Capitalize first letter of every sentence - Capitalizes the first letter of every sentence.
Correct two initial capitals - When you type two uppercase letters at the beginning of a word, such as "WOrd" the second uppercase letter is automatically replaced with a lowercase letter.
To revert back to the legacy version of spell check, add SPELL_FORCE_LEGACY=1 to your notes.ini file.
