Did you know that you can arrange your files spatially using File Explorer?

Did you know that in the File Explorer in XP, you can choose to arrange  "Tiles" of your documents in spatial ways?
I admit, I did not. to do this, use the context menu to choose "Arrange Icons By" and then  UNCHECK the menu item for "Auto Arrange", as shown in the picture below.

I thought I'd point it out to this community, because  the reason you like the Workspace is that is gives you this ability to leverage your "kinetic/spatial" memory in finding your files or folders.

I would love to have more graphical options in the Notes workspace.

    For example:

    1. Text labels

I would like to place them above a group of databases to give the group a name

    2. Border around multiple databases

Draw a border around this group in a custom color to know later on which databases belong to the group.

Interesting, yes I knew it, but never compared it to Notes. But then I am not UI responisble as you are.

It would be nice to be able to NOT waste precious desktop space with boxes, perhaps flat lined rectangles or rounded "buttons" could be used.

Or like XP/Vista just the logo/graphic with text below it?

And of course allow for ANY grpahic type to be placed in the DB icon space.

Enjoy South Florida sorry to miss you all this week.

Yes, however the difference is that most people have an image of something as their wallpaper that they like to look at and often keep the desktop fairly clear.

The Icons and the workspace look the same and are not an image of anything, so the workspace is not in the same league as the desktop.

Now, that said, I have installed the skinning app for Notes and I now have a new look workspace with my company logo on and it looks good. If you had the option of changing the icons, workspace like you can the desktop then that would impress people.

Yes, it's what I've been proposing for years. Notes has a single view of "Applications" which can be displayed either from the new launch (Open) feature or the workspace as either Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List or Details.

Gosh, no... never knew that. Nope. Had no idea. Never brought it up on a conference call either. Nor did I ever post it on a site like IdeaJam. Or in an email.

Seriously, I should get out more. ;-)
